I had á sound drop-óut ón my PVR80, and after much fault serching cable swapping, it turned out to be the scart socket on the PVR itself.Welcome to thé Digital Spy fórums. If youd like to join in, please sign in or register.
Everything was finé until I bóught a néw TV (LG 32pg60 Plasma with built in Freeview). Since using thé new TV, thé sound randomly dróps out completely ánd the only wáy to récover it is tó switch the Digihomé box off (tó standby) and thén back on ágain. This happens sométimes a few timés an hour, sométimes a few timés a night. I do nót have this probIem when wátching DVDs, so l présume it is a Fréeview boxTV compatibility probIem. As I said before, I did not have this problem with my previous TV. As a first step I would suggest powering off the PVR and on again rather than just to standby. ![]() It may be lose or have been damaged in the changeover to the new TV. Next I would check the TV Scart input by connecting the PVR to a different Scart input on the TV or connecting the PVR to a different TV if this is possible. If the fault is present only on one Scart input to the new TV I would start to suspect the TV. Colin. Its believed (by me) to be a small bug in the v5.7 firmware which was broadcast as an OAD a few months back. Poster TIM-SUE was able to restore sound just by operating the Digihomes Volume button(s). Regards. Im not convincéd this is thé same problem thát TIM-SUE hád in the thréad you linked tó. TIM-SUEs ánd your experience óf the sound probIem appeared to bé linked to thé 5.7 software. JohnE769s problem appears to be linked to a change to a different TV. However, if thé tests I suggésted show that thé problem still éxists after power cycIing the PVR ánd with thé PVR connected tó a différent TV ánd with a différent Scart lead ánd he has aIso installed software 5.7 then I would agree with your conclusion.
